We track the U.S. FDA's official drug-shortage list for the medications we cover, and refresh it a few times a day.

A national shortage doesn't mean every pharmacy is out, and a drug not on the list can still be unavailable at the store nearest you. Local stock changes constantly. That's the gap RxFinder fills: we call pharmacies near you to find who actually has it today.

U.S. drug shortages are near record highs

Active drug shortages nationwide hit an all-time high of 323 in early 2024, surpassing the prior record of 320 set in 2014, and the highest since tracking began in 2001. They've eased since but remain historically elevated.
